This policy explains how LushFiction.com handles personal information when you visit our website, create an account, generate stories, buy a subscription or contact us. For privacy enquiries, use our Contact Us page.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect your name, email address, login credentials or authentication records, subscription status and billing identifiers, story prompts, character descriptions, generated chapters, cover images, chapter choices, support messages, and technical information such as IP address, browser, device, usage events and error logs. We currently intend to use a payment processing, in which case payment-card information is collected and processed by them and than stored directly by Lush Fiction.
How we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, generate and save your books and covers, process subscriptions, provide PDF downloads where available, respond to support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose technical problems, maintain security and meet legal obligations. Where required, we seek consent for optional marketing communications.
AI processing and story privacy
To generate personalised fiction and cover artwork, we use OpenRouter to route relevant prompts, story context and other generation inputs to third-party AI models and providers. Those providers may process information in other countries and may have different retention and model-training practices. Please avoid entering real-world confidential or highly sensitive personal information. We do not display your private bookshelf or unpublished stories to other readers as a normal part of the service. If you choose a sharing feature, anyone with its link may be able to view the shared content.
Payments and service providers
We use service providers to operate our website, host our application and database, deliver emails, process payments and generate AI content. Our AI routing provider is OpenRouter, which sends relevant inputs to the selected underlying model providers. We currently intend to use a payment provider to process subscriptions and payments. Providers receive information needed to perform their services, subject to their terms and applicable law.
Cookies and analytics
We may use essential cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in, remember settings and protect the service. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this policy and provide any consent choices required by applicable law.
When information is shared
We share information with providers who help us deliver the service, including OpenRouter and its underlying AI model providers; with our intended payment processor Stripe if implemented; where you choose to share a book; when required by law; or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety and security. We do not sell your private stories to other readers. We cannot currently confirm the training or retention practices of every downstream AI provider.
International transfers
Our infrastructure and AI providers may process or store personal information outside the United States of America, including in the countries where their systems operate.
Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. If you cancel your subscription, you lose access to books stored in your Lush Fiction account when your paid period ends. This loss of access does not necessarily mean that all copies are immediately erased from active systems, backups or third-party AI provider systems. We retain information as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the platform.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Some information may need to be retained for billing, security or legal reasons. If you receive optional marketing emails, you can unsubscribe using the method provided in those messages.
Children
Lush Fiction is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly offer accounts to children. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
